The abstracts are welcome to be extended to full-text submissions, which will be selected as special issues and published in journals of Advanced Fiber Materials and Journal of Donghua University (English Edition).

Advanced Fiber Materials (English Edition) was launched in 2019. It is supervised by the Ministry of Education of China, sponsored by Donghua University, co-organized by the Chinese Materials Research Society, and globally published and distributed by Springer Nature. The journal is initiated by the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Donghua University and the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Fiber Materials (formerly the State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials). Positioned as an international, interdisciplinary, and high-quality academic journal, it aims to publish high-level research results in fundamental and cross-disciplinary applications of fiber materials. The journal has been indexed by SCIE, EI, Scopus, and other major databases. The Editor-in-Chief is Professor Meifang Zhu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Donghua University. The Executive Deputy Editor-in-Chief is Professor Zhigang Chen from Donghua University. There are seven Associate Editors: Professor Takeshi Kikutani from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Professor Tianxi Liu from Jiangnan University, Professor Yan Lu from the University of Potsdam/Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin for Materials and Energy, Professor Seeram Ramakrishna from the National University of Singapore, Professor Guangming Tao from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Xiangwu Zhang from North Carolina State University, and Professor Pierre-Alexis Mouthuy from the University of Oxford. The editorial board includes 22 academicians from China and abroad and 24 globally leading scientists.

In 2021: included in the ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index) database in May; selected in September for the "High-Starting-Point New Journal" category of the Excellence Action Plan for Chinese STM Journals; indexed by SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) in December.

In 2022: indexed by Scopus in January; received its first Impact Factor of 12.958 from Clarivate in June, ranking in the global top 10% of the JCR category "Materials Science, Multidisciplinary," and ranked first in "Materials Science, Textiles," within the Q1 quartile; recognized in December as a Zone 1 journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and indexed by EI (Engineering Index).

In 2023: received an Impact Factor of 16.1 from Clarivate in June, ranking in the global top 6% of the JCR category "Materials Science, Multidisciplinary" and maintaining the first position in "Materials Science, Textiles"; recognized again as a Zone 1 journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in December; obtained a domestic serial number (CN31-2199/TB), enabling simultaneous domestic and international publication and distribution.

In 2024: received high praise in January from a special column in People’s Daily for its focus on scientific frontiers and its aspiration to reach the top; reached a CiteScore of 18.7 in June and an updated Impact Factor of 17.2 released by Clarivate in the same month, ranking in the global top 6% of the JCR category "Materials Science, Multidisciplinary" and continuing to rank first in "Materials Science, Textiles"; selected in November for the English-language tier of the Excellence Action Plan for Chinese STM Journals.

In 2025: selected in March as a Top Zone 1 journal in the category of Materials Science in the Chinese Academy of Sciences' 2025 journal ranking system.

The Journal of Donghua University (English Edition) was launched in 1984. It is supervised by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and sponsored by Donghua University. It is an academic journal featuring textile science and related disciplines. It has been indexed by Scopus, World Textile Abstracts, AJ, VINITI, EBSCOhost, the China Core Journals (Selection) Database, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), CSPD, CAJCED, Chaoxing, and other authoritative databases. It has been awarded titles such as “Excellent Academic Journal of Chinese Universities.”
